I had the honor of being inducted into the Wizard World Hall of Legends last night in Chicago. My old pal and editor Mike Gold was on hand to make it all the more special. I want to thank all my fans, friends and family who made it possible, especially Mom and Dad who had the sense to live in an area where we wouldn’t see one of those new-fangled television contraptions until I was 8 (we didn’t get one until I was 11). In the meantime, we had movies, comic books, newspaper comic strips and radio — which in those days was like TV without pictures (you had to supply your own). We learned to use our imagination and were given the freedom to use it. After 44 years in comics, I hardly feel like I’ve really worked a day in my life.
